    Job Description

    Vision Charter School District #463 is a K-12th grade College Prep Science and Art school. Our primary attendance area encompasses Middleton School District and parts of Vallivue. Students come from Middleton, Vallivue, Caldwell, Nampa, and many other school districts due to our centralized location.

    Students at Vision Charter School are provided a rigorous college prep program starting with a FREE full day five day a week kindergarten, enrichment clubs, Gifted and Talented curriculum used for all students, rigorous academic instruction, high standards, safe school environment, science and art focus, and weekly instruction in Spanish, Music, PE, and technology. Students at Vision Charter School are able to graduate with an Associate of Arts at the same time they graduate from High School due to a partnership with College of Western Idaho. 

    Preference will be given to an applicant that has had at least three years of successful teaching, evidence of being trainable, teachable, highly self motivated, exceptional classroom management, able to motivate students, experience with teaching art, science, social studies, reading, math, English, and passionate about student success!

    Job Description - SPECIAL EDUCATION 

    The teacher for the elementary or secondary special education program at Vision Charter School promotes and develops successful learning for: students with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities; students on the autism spectrum; or with intellectual disabilities. The teacher manages the assigned caseload, maintains regular communication with parents and staff members and is responsible for development, revision and implementation of IEPs, data collection, testing and compilation of eligibility reports, and as applicable, behavior plans. 

    Requirements:

    --A valid ID Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.
    -- Experience and expertise in parent and team meetings and collaborative problem solving/conflict resolution skills;
    --Ability to provide leadership and scheduling to classroom paraprofessional staff in areas of specialization;
    --Interpersonal skills to consult effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, in a variety of settings.

    SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

    Vision Charter School is looking for substitute teachers to be available throughout the year for substituting in the classroom, recess duty, and other duties as assigned. Substitutes will be compensated $75 a day. A work day is defined as 7:30a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with a thirty minute lunch. Half day rate will be considered four hours and be paid at $37.50. No benefits are available for this position. Approved substitute teachers will be on call as needed and not guaranteed any number of hours or days of work during the school year. Approved substitutes will be required to pay the $40 fingerprinting fee. Applicants must be willing to be called at 6:30 in the morning if needed.


     Preference will be given to individuals with successful experience substituting, teaching, or working with children in a school setting.

    This position will include supervising and instructing students. Applicants must be able to carry out lesson plans, maintain a positive learning environment, employ strong classroom management and discipline practices as outlined by the school.
