Weekly Newsletters
The newsletter will be posted by Monday each week on Vision Charter’s web site. Please check often for updates or class announcements. Using the web site and e-mail rather than a weekly hard copy of the newsletter will help the school save money and also save our environment. The site address is http://www.visioncharterschool.net/content/jan-ayotte.

Home Folders
Your child’s Home Folder needs to be taken home every evening and returned every school day. Please help your child become responsible for this. They will receive class money for bringing it every day and pay a fine if they do not.

Geography
Our class is studying Geography every Monday. Last week the students leaned about maps. This week they will learn about globes.

Science/Idaho History
These two subjects will be on alternating weeks. Last week was our science week and this week is Idaho History. There may be weeks that either subject overlaps into the next week. That information will be in the weekly newsletter.

Science
The students learned the steps of the Scientific Method last week and conducted experiments and activities dealing with surface tension. The students will be journaling in a Science Folder and adding science terms into their Science Vocabulary notebook throughout the year. This quarter we will be focusing on air, weather, and the climate. Idaho

History
This week the student’s will begin learning about their state. We will learn about out state symbols, flag, and state seal. The students will also begin memorizing the counties in Idaho. A study map will be coming home soon. FYI The microwave in the classroom is reserved for staff and science use. Student lunches will not be heated. There is a water cooler in each of the 4th grade rooms. Your child should have a cup or water bottle at school. They should bring them home each weekend to be cleaned.
