October 28, 2011
This year, the students of Vision Charter School are reading Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, Fables, and Tall Tales instead of a book, as in years past. Our celebration will be Monday, October 31st. Your child is welcome to come dressed as his/her favorite character from a familiar Nursery Rhyme, Fairy Tale, Fable, or Tall Tale. All costumes should be “school appropriate”; no weapons, no gore, no scary masks, etc. Also remember that education will still be happening, so costumes should not be distracting or prohibitive to the learning process.
Third Grade will actually have 2 celebrations on Monday, October 31st!! Our class has earned a Super Star Party for excellent behavior in their special classes. For this party we will have a game party. Students may bring board games and other school-appropriate games (no lawn darts, twister, etc.) to play with classmates. They may also bring treats to share. If your child chooses to bring treats, he/she needs to bring enough for the whole class, not just a few friends. It is recommended that we try to stick with healthier snack choices. Third Graders will be playing games and snacking from 12:00 to 1:00. At 1:00 we will begin our October Literature Celebration. For this party we will watch a movie of Tall Tales and compare the stories in the movie to the ones we have read.
Thank you for all of the parent helpers who came for Center Day on Thursday. You were all wonderful! Our next Center Day will be Thursday, November 17th and there will not be one in December. I will send more information as the date gets closer.
