BIG NEWS!
Mrs. Ayotte will be teaching fourth grade next year! Mrs. McDorman will be moving up with her students to fifth grade. Mrs. Wafwa will be moving up with her students to sixth grade. All other staff will be staying with their same assignment for next year. I will be posting a second grade teacher opening next week.
Research shows that looping provides children with additional time to build the relationships necessary for learning. In addition, looping essentially adds an extra month of teaching/learning time during the second year when the typical transitional period at the beginning of the year is virtually unnecessary. Students in classrooms that have looped have also exhibited substantially higher reading and mathematics achievement scores on standardized tests than did students in the traditional grade organization.
If you have any questions regarding this decision please feel free to contact me or the classroom teacher. wendyroldenkamp@msn.com

PARTNERS WITH A VISION!
Thank you to the Woods family for donating a soccer ball to VCS! Thank you for your generosity and supporting the school.
****We are always in need of paper at the school. If you know of a business interested in advertising in our newsletter and our website please encourage them to donate a box of paper. We will gladly post a thank you to their business with their phone number and business contact information. This is a very inexpensive advertising opportunity.
Please remind your children to wear tennis shoes on PE days and closed toed shoes for the rest of the week. This is for the safety of your children. Sweatshirts and sweaters worn over the polo shirts should be solid color and free from writing. Thank you for supporting the dress code by ensuring your children refrain from wearing pants with holes in the knees.
