MR. BANNING: For those of you who haven’t had a chance to meet our newest edition to the VCS staff, his name is Mr. Banning. He was originally hired as the Vice Principal to assist with discipline and supervision. As the school continues to grow and the duties of Mrs. OldenKamp continue to multiply, the board has decided to widen Mr. Banning’s assignment to include Elementary Principal. Mr. Banning will be overseeing all items connected to the elementary school. If you have a question or concern that relate to the elementary school please feel free to reach Mr. Banning at mattbanning@visioncsd.org.
MRS. OLDENKAMP: Mrs. OldenKamp will continue in the position of Middle and High School Principal, Federal Programs Director, and overall Director of Vision Charter School. This position is what you would traditionally associate with a Superintendent. At VCS, we will call this position, Administrator. Please contact Mrs. OldenKamp for any question or concern regarding the Middle or High School. You may reach her at wendyroldenkamp@msn.com.
DROP OFF: Vision Charter School provides supervision beginning at 7:45 am daily.
Supervision is not provided until after 7:45 am in all cases. All students need to be dropped off at the south gate on Willamette Road by the playground. Thank you for your consideration of this safety request.
NEON NIGHT! Thursday, April 22, 2010 is NEON NIGHT for Middle & High School students from 6-9pm at the College of Idaho in Caldwell at the Simplot Dining Hall. We will have dancing, food, Wii competitions, games, Battle of the Bands, and PRIZES! This event is free and students are encouraged to bring a 7th-9th grade friend that may be interested in getting on our wait list. Forms to bring a friend can be picked up at the office or in study skills. This event is NO COST! All VCS students and their “approved” friends who have submitted a request to attend are invited to this fun filled evening!
Assignment Blog: Vision Charter School students in the middle and high school are able to check homework assignments online at visioncharterschool.net. It is always best that each student utilize their agenda book and record the assignments and due dates themselves. The “homework blog” is kept up by a TA. This is fabulous resource for that rare occasion that you forget to write down your homework, however, the full responsibility for accuracy rests on the student in all cases.
March Virtues: CLEANLINESS and RESPONSIBILITY: Being responsible means that others can depend on you. You are willing to be accountable for your actions. When things go wrong and you make a mistake, you make amends instead of excuses. You give your best to any job. It is a sign of growing up!
Cleanliness means washing often, keeping your body clean, and wearing clean clothes. Cleanliness in your mind is concentrating your thoughts on things that are good for you. You can “clean up your act” by deciding to change when you have done something you aren’t proud of or have made a mistake.
“My life is an influence on every life mine touches. Whether I realize it or not, I am responsible and accountable for that influence.” – Ron Baron
