My name is Jason George and I teach the majority of the High School science courses here at Vision including: General and Advanced Biology (dual credit through BSU), Zoology/Botany, Bioethics, Environmental Science (dual credit through BSU), Marine Science (dual credit through Stony Brook University), Human Biology (dual credit through BSU), and Principles of Fitness and CrossFit (dual credit through NNU).  I was born in Reno, Nevada and I grew up in the Northern Nevada area before attending college at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa where I received my B.A. in 2001.  I met my wife Janelle at NNU and we decided to stay in Idaho and have been here for over 20 years now.  My wife Janelle teaches 2nd grade here, she is an amazing teacher and an even better person. I have two wonderful daughters Hannah and Abigail who both attend school here at Vision. As a family we love doing CrossFit together at Snake River CrossFit, going to the Oregon Coast and surfing as much as possible every summer, longboarding, playing music, and eating real food (food that has a mother or came from the ground).  I completed my Masters of Science in Science Education through Montana State University in 2013.  I also have my CrossFit Level 1 Coaching Certificate and helped Vision Charter become the first non-profit school CrossFit affiliate in Idaho as of 2016.  You can find out more at the following link: http://www.visioncrossfit.com I am a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching (PAEMST) and the Governors Industry Award for notable Teaching in Stem (GIANTS). I love science, specifically the biological sciences, because it is so dynamic and constantly changing the way we think about and relate to the world where we live. I am excited to start another year here at Vision and help our students reach their full potential.  I will end my bio with the following quote: “I used to be afraid of failing at the things that really mattered to me, but now I am more afraid of succeeding at the things that don’t matter.”
