We will begin working on our Planet Projects, Monday, September 12th. If you have any resources you would like your child to share with his/her group, please send it to school Monday. This is a group project. Students will be working together to write a report, make a poster and paint a model of their planet.
Social Studies 6B
This class has learned all the music for our musical. We start choreography on Friday! Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear. We will be stretching and learning some dance warm up techniques first. A brief written quiz will be given next week over the skills learned so far. A study guide will go home on Friday, and the quiz will occur on Tuesday.
4th and 5th grades will start recorders tomorrow, Thursday, September 6! Bring your recorder to music if you have your own!
Choir students will have a written and singing quiz next week. A study guide will go home on Friday for the written portion. The singing portion will be in groups (of the students' choice) and involve solfege and attempting "The Crawdad Song" from memory.
We are having a fantastic year so far! I can't wait for parents to hear what these students are accomplishing!
1B P.E. -
The teams played flag football games. REMEMBER - If you want to retake your football quiz, YOU MUST DO IT AT LUNCH on Thursday!
2B - English -
Today was the last class day to work on the Sherlock Holmes Letter of Recommendation. The typed final copy is due on Friday, at the beginning of class. You will turn in all three parts of the writing process! (This includes your prewriting, rough draft, and typed final.)
4th Period P.E. -
It's hard to believe we've almost been in school for 4 weeks, and that means we are due for a test. The test will be worth 100 points total. 50 points will be in written format, and there will be a study guide available Monday, September 12. The other 50 points will be a playing test. Students will be allowed to choose how they want to handle the playing test. There are two options:
Play the test live in front of Mrs. Ellis and the class on Thursday, September 15.

Biology: Students finished their investigations using "unknowns" and tried to answer the question of whether or not their unknown was a biotic or abiotic substance. Students will present their data in class on Friday. No homework other than preparing their presentation.

Biology: Today students finished their microscope lap making wet mount slides with their cheek cells and diagraming at least 4 different slides. Students also learned the criteria for biotic and abiotic factors. Students were asked to design an experiment that would prove whether or not an "unknown" substance was biotic or abiotic, we will finish this lab tomorrow.
